Become A Missionary Of Love
A missionary is one sent with a mission—a message to deliver. Just as Jesus was sent by His Father, we too are sent by Him and filled with His Spirit to be witnesses of His gospel of love and compassion.

First in our communities and then in our ministry amongst the poorest of the poor all over the world. It is simply love in action as Mother Teresa has said, “We are to quench the thirst of Jesus!” And how do we quench the thirst of our beloved God who still thirsts for souls? With each action done in love to others is also done to Jesus. “Whatever you do to the least of my brothers, you do it to me.” Matthew 25:4
Love In Action
How often do we do this well? Love every person and give them God’s love in an exceptional way.
We must give God’s love to each of them and thus quench the thirst of Jesus by gathering and teaching little street children.
Visiting and caring for the homeless, the sick and those in prison
Giving shelter to the abadoned and helping the poorest of the poor
Caring for the unwanted, the unloved and loney
A MISSIONARY OF LOVE IS A LONG-TERM MISSION
​We encourage all applicants to get familiar with the Heartdweller’s mission and spirituality. As Franciscans we live simply in the light of the gospels, following St. Francis in the rule of living a life of Holy Poverty, Obedience, Chasity, Substantial Prayer, and Substantial Solitude.
To become a missionary of love, you must submit and follow the Franciscan rule to be a part of the community and be willing to commit to at least one year of serving. We are a Spirit-directed, Kingdom ministry and the Lord is looking for people whose calling and qualifications will help advance Heartdweller’s mission. Long-term missionaries at The City of God: Sacred Refuge must have the following character traits:

A positive attitude toward leadership and Holy Obedience

Docile, Teachable, Teachable, Teachable

Culturally adaptable

Wise
-
Hardworking
-
Willingness to work under the Heartdweller’s vision and spirituality

Accountable

Able to receive direction well versus having a “independent” attitude

A servant heart which shares the day-to-day responsibilities of community living, walks in God’s love, and gives out of overflow
These characteristics will not work if you desire to apply:

Health
We do not discriminate on age. Mother Clare, leader of Sacred Heart Refuge is 75 and can run with the best of us. Putting the younger ones to shame as long as you’re healthy we will have you. We prefer applicants to be able-bodied and in good health due to the demanding physical conditions of the areas where we minister. However, If you have any health issues or disability still apply. We discern and pray over every applicant if it's the will of God we will have you!

We have been blessed to receive prophetic messages From Jesus specifically about this calling. We encourage all applicants to listen to the videos to hear His heart, His reason for calling you and all that He has in store for you if you would respond. You can find all the messages below as they are in the order they were received.

There is a level of prayer and discernment that is very vital to each application we receive. It is up to the Lord, if He desires to have you a part of this community. We gather to pray and then discern what His will is for each applicant. We will respond to each application. However if you receive a response from us that it is in the Lord’s will, we will contact you for a video chat to get to know you further and go from there.

WE WILL HAVE THREE MISSION HOUSES
The Lord has asked us to build three mission houses. One for male presbyters, one for female presbyters and one for presbyters who are married couples. We will call the houses St. Joseph’s House of Prayer, St. Therese House of Prayer and The Holy Family House of Prayer to accommodate our missionaries.
Help Us Build This Family!
This community will live solely off God’s providence through donations. Freely we have received so freely we will give all that we have and pour it out on the precious souls of Ghana. However, we cannot do this mission and fulfill this call on our own. We need you to come along side us as co-labors to sow into this community as you touch the lives of these many precious little ones who have been neglected, rejected, and outcast by the world.
Become a sowing partner. You are needed and not one seed you sow into this community will fall on the ground wasted, but will reap a harvest of thirty, sixty and even a hundred fold not only in this life, but the next. Will you help us build the City of God?
