Intimacy With God: "Don't Be A Runaway Bride"

April 12, 2020

As we continue to do the series on intimacy with God, I wanted to share the importance of loyalty and fidelity to Jesus, if you are truly wanting to cultivate a deep relationship with Him. That goes for anyone you love right? Most marriages and relationships don’t last long when one of the spouses is unfaithful. It causes so much pain that it takes quite a bit of time to repair, and it also causes you to walk in doubt, fear, suspicion and insecurity, which cripples the relationship. It's the same with Jesus, when you are unfaithful to Him. It causes Him so much pain. It causes you to lose many graces and it takes time to restore that intimacy back again. Not only that, you tend to walk in doubt, fear, and insecurity concerning His love for you, which cripples your relationship.

We talked earlier about desiring His will, but it's important to not only desire, but to do His will. The more you walk in God’s will, the more you are united to Him. Many say they love God, but they don’t do what He says. As the scripture says, “You call Me Lord, Lord, but you do not do what I say,” Luke 6:46. So this is about obedience. But when you are in love, you shouldn’t see Jesus as a hard taskmaster, because He is not. You should see Him as your bridegroom whom you desire to be faithful to, having your mind, body, soul and heart reserved only for Him. How do you know the will of God you ask? Simply by following His word. You cannot be just hearers of the word, but doers of the word or you are just fooling yourself as scripture says:

James 1:22-25 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is here of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror for he observers himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forceful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does”

I remember in my first year walking with the Lord, I was given an exhortation to read the bible. This friend said the Lord knew I loved books (which I do), but He wanted me to read the bible. So I began reading about five chapters a day, and I was blown away by the amount of truth that was in His word, compared to what I had been taught and I realized I was living a lie. I then said in my heart, “Lord, You're really serious about Your word.” I never expected him to respond back, but He said “Yeah!” and I was like, “Oh!” LOL. For so long, I had seen and witnessed many who call themselves Christians live a compromised life.

So I thought that was okay with Jesus, to live on the fence, have grey areas to His word and live according to the culture, sometimes even the “church culture.” But as I began to really read His word and the gospel I noticed it was radically different from what I saw and how I was living. The Lord calls us to live a standard! His standards are not made by denominations or mens wisdom. So I would encourage you, if you haven’t read the Bible, make it a point to read all the gospels, which is the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. In there are the words of Jesus from His mouth on how to live, what He desires and dislikes. That at least will start you on the path to being faithful to His known will, which is through the Word of God.

Now there is His unique will for your life. And that truly comes from intimacy. The more you walk in His known will by following His word and living it, the easier it will be to have His unique will for your life revealed to you. He has a unique purpose for each and every single one of us as we do life together with Him. He has a unique will for you everyday if you would come before Him. When you love Jesus, you learn to no longer plan your life, not even your days, but allow Him to plan them for you. One day He may have you doing work, tending to others who need care, reaching out to a loved one who is in need of encouragement. Then another day He may want you pulled away from all of that, and tucked away with Him in prayer the whole day. The following day He may have you work on creative things and then in the evening watch a holy movie together.

I have found out that it all depends on doing life with Jesus, moment by moment and day by day. He has given us a tool to seek discernment for His known will moment by moment and that is by using the Bible Promises book, which you can purchase online for $2.99 at Amazon. If anyone is tight for cash and wants this book just email me and I will send it to you for free. It is through Mother Clare and the Still Small Voice channel that the Lord taught us this method on how to discern His will and use our time wisely so that we may be faithful to what He wants and not to what we want. It has helped me tremendously to be faithful to the Lord with my time. Some might say, “This is a bit much. The Holy Spirit is in you. Just follow your heart and go with inspiration.” Which is true, but the scriptures also say:

The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately wicked, who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9

Guys, I don’t trust myself and I never will in my walk with the Lord, because truly my heart can be so deceitful, and I want, if possible, to do His perfect will in every situation, by His grace. So there are many times where I had the inspiration to do “good” things but they weren’t the Lord. For instance Bethel Worship group was coming to my hometown, and the tickets were cheap. For sure I thought Jesus would be okay with me going. So I asked the Lord and got scriptures on “Lust.” I thought, “What? Really Lord? It's worship music!” However, I yielded to His desire and stayed home instead to spend time with Him, one on one, and had the most amazing experience in His presence. Looking back I realized that even then, He was pulling me away from the world and closer to His heart.

There is a time for corporate worship, but when you have the Lord so available to you it seems silly to run off to do other things than to sit at His feet. It’s like Jesus physically being present in your bedroom waiting to talk with you and you tell him, “Oh wait Lord, I have to go to church!” Or, “Wait Lord, I have to take care of this.” Or, “Wait Lord, I would rather spend time with this person or group of people instead of staying with you.” LOL. Whaaa?!! Jesus is right there already! We tend to think like that, and do that a lot, because we don’t realize how present He is, and how He desires to want to be with us.

As I mentioned, unfaithfulness causes doubt, fear, and insecurity, which I have fallen into a couple of times. Jesus is desiring His brides get rid of the world altogether in their lives and hearts, and to desire things above. One instance was when He confirmed I was called to come to the mountain and community. I remember being in shock then. He hadn’t told me about that, and I had “plans” for that year. I kept thinking about all that I might lose and miss by leaving. Rather than being faithful to His invitation, I tarred for about two weeks, trying to decipher when to go. That was the wrong move because of my self-will. My hedge of protection was removed and I was just a sitting duck for the enemy. So a lying spirit entered into my discernment and I was under some really heavy oppression for those two weeks. I truly began to doubt God's love. I feared His presence, and I was so insecure concerning where I stood with him. It felt like I came under the wrath of God.

There was no consolation anywhere. All my readings were about judgment, His disapproval, and spiritual warfare. It wasn’t until my sweet Mother, His Mother came to my rescue and I was delivered from that demonic stronghold. I realized my error and my unfaithfulness to His will caused this oppressive attack and I also lost the grace of hearing His voice, which He just restored again this time of lent. It's so important that we walk in obedience to the Lord, guys, from the smallest to the biggest things, because therein lies our protection as we grow into becoming faithful brides. I lost everything being faithful and loyal to the Lord in coming here, but I gained sooooo much more, and I am so grateful for all that He allowed, because it was a hard lesson in obedience that I will never forget. As the scripture says to, “count every loss as gain.”

We were doing the Rosary today and staying with Blessed Mother at another tree we consecrated to her on the mountain. We wanted to be with her to console her as she is with Jesus today as He goes through His passion. So I felt in my heart that maybe she wanted to address this subject instead. She was the most faithful and loyal of children, disciple, daughter and spouse of the Holy Spirit.

My Sweet Mother do you have anything you would like to add or share with you children,

My precious daughter, what a gift you are to me beloved and to the heart of my son. Truly you bring us so much joy with your faith and love. Yes, I would love to talk with my children dear one, please. Fidelity to God is one the greatest virtues. From obedience hinges every other virtue. With fidelity to my son comes humility and an outpouring of many graces. When I was with my son I learned from Him and listened to His every request and sermon. Even when He was a child I studied Him. He indeed was my son, but my savior. I knew within Him was living waters and words of eternal life that I could not afford to stray from. The world and all its superfluous enticements and goods had nothing to offer me but that of my beloved savior and son. So I ask you, my children, to see it the same.

Why do you continue to run after things of this world. Why do you continue to honor and respect men but not my Son, your savior and God? Why continue to follow after vanities and vain glories that will not satisfy you my little ones? I am asking you now to curtail your appetite for things of this world. Ask me for the graces to have a desire for heaven and heaven alone. Ask me for the desire and grace to be faithful to my beloved Son. I am your mother, and a mother in law to all His brides. So what Mother wouldn’t want to see her son, loved, taken care of, respected, honored and adored in His home? Home is where your heart is. And may I ask, ‘Is it with my Son?’

When your heart is His throne room, how it comforts and consoles my heart as well. When I see His bride waiting on His every word, anointing His feet with her tears and worship, when I see a bride continuously longing after my Son, walking in obedience to His will, how it brings me the most joy.

Satan has planned many traps to cause many of His brides to stray, to wander off into the entanglements that will bind them, and null them sleep. But, need I say my beloved ones, it is time for you to awake and come be with your beloved Spouse. Be with your beloved Savior, be faithful to His desires, and solicitous for His needs. Be with Him now a faithful bride awaiting the return of her beloved bridegroom. For that is how I see you, and that is how you will be in Heaven, truly one, inseparable, and faithful to the purpose and destiny He created you for. Be faithful my children to the small things and in eternity He indeed will make you ruler of much.
