Season In The Wilderness

A Message from Jesus to Brother Robby

~ ~ ~

Hello family. It has been a busy Monday here at the Mission House in Ghana after the weekend. We were not able to do the Lord’s Supper early in the day because we both needed to do our weekly confession and get absolution. We had a lot of confessing to do, especially since we had a meeting with one of our Heartdweller Franciscan bishops. We met because he was to prepare us for our calling as Franciscan priests living in a religious community.

We realized we are not totally submissive to Brother Derrick & Mother Elisha. One truly needs to surrender one’s will, opinions, and truly revert to the superiors on all issues, no matter what. They represent Christ, and therefore, like Christ said, " I came not to do My own will but the will of the Father".

Anyway, let me return the message [I am preparing] for this Wednesday. During our Lord’s Supper, after dinner, our first reading was from the Book of Hosea, chapter 2:14-18, 19-20. Listening to Mother Caroline reading the text drew my mind to a very difficult time in my life. Let us read the passage together.

Therefore, I am now going to I will allure her,Will lead her into the desert,And speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards,And the Valley of Achor a door of hope; There she will sing,As in the days of her youth,As in the day when she came up out of Egypt.

In that day,” declares the LORD“You will call Me ‘My Husband,’You will no longer call Me ‘Master,’I will remove the names of the Baals,And they shall be remembered by their name no more. no longer will their names be invoked.I will betroth you to me forever;I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion.

I will betroth you to me in faithfulness,

and you will acknowledge the LORD

I checked the Topical Bible dictionary for the meaning of the word ‘wilderness’. It states that;

The term “wilderness” in the Bible often refers to desolate, uninhabited, and uncultivated regions. These areas are typically characterized by their harsh conditions, scarcity of water, and sparse vegetation. The wilderness holds significant theological and symbolic meaning throughout the biblical narrative, serving as a backdrop for divine encounters, testing, and transformation.

That was the end of that quote.

Jesus, over twenty years ago, You “lured” me into the wilderness—a season of wilderness. I had become a total mess, stinking filth, and I was quickly sinking into darkness. During those seven years in the wilderness, You revealed Yourself to me. It cost everything. I lost everything. But in isolation, with no human or anything else to comfort and console me, You found me, and I came to intimately know You.

Jesus, if You had allowed them to assassinate me in the condition I was in, I would be in hell today. I thank You for literally and painfully pulling me out of the fire. I had turned my back on you because of the riches and pleasures of this world, but You pursued me and lured me into the wilderness like your prophet Moses, to have an encounter with You.

Those years were painful, humiliating, and very, very difficult. I usually tell my friends I have been to hell and back. But I will praise You forever, My Lord, for the grace You put in me, not to run away but to wait quietly.

Guys, during this season of wilderness, the passage, Lamentations 3:26-33, was a great consolation.

It says,

So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the LORD.

And it is good for people to submit at an early age

to the yoke if His discipline:

Let them sit alone in silence

beneath the LORD’s demands.

Let them lie face down in the dust,

for there may be hope at last.

Let them turn the other cheek to those who strike them

and accept the insults of their enemies.

For no one is abandoned

by the Lord forever.

Though he brings grief, he also shows compassion

because of the greatness of His unfailing love.

For He does not enjoy hurting people

or causing them sorrow.

Jesus, My Lord, what is on Your heart?

Jesus began

I loved you from your mother’s womb. You rejected Me for temporary riches of this world and its vain pleasures. But before you were born, I had chosen you to be My vessel.

I lured you into exile. I removed you from people and circumstances that were defiling you and frustrating My purposes in your life. The prosperity you attained was not from Me. I had to pluck you out of your circumstances and isolate you from everyone and everything so that I could save your soul.”

Jesus, Your decision and action were very, very extreme. You took away everything from me and separated me from all my family and friends for seven years.

Jesus continued

Your soul is more valuable than this world, with all it offers. I created you and saved your soul in your teens to serve Me, but you chose to compromise with the world. In fact, unbeknown to you, at that time you were serving the interests of the enemy. I used the years you were in the wilderness to cleanse you of all the filth you had accumulated in the world and to teach you how to worship Me in Spirit and in Truth.

You had stepped into filth, and a trap was being prepared for you by the enemy to be his vessel. The reason they tried to assassinate you was because they realized you were slipping away from their filth, and therefore, they decided to kill you so that you could die in your sins. I used that assassination attempt to lure you to Me.”

Guys, at that time, my business was crumbling, and I was attempting to get out of the country to go to Europe, where I had some business interests with some European partners.

They owed me quite a bit of money, so I thought that if I could get this money from them, I would be able to save my business in Kenya. So, I was in Nairobi, the capital city, to get a visa to travel to the Netherlands. I was with my personal assistant. He dropped me at the hotel and took my car to visit his brother, who lived in Nairobi. Hired guns apparently were trailing the car. When he reached his brother’s house, he was attacked in the car park. As he opened the boot, three guys with guns attacked him. They shot him three times, but only hit his leg, for he fought back. But one of the assassins said, “Let’s go, it’s not him”. Later, they were shot dead by police, and my photo was found with them. My personal assistant was injured from the bullets, and all the money I had was used to save his life and leg. So, I did not have the money to travel to the Netherlands.

I went back to my city and went to a servant of God who had been helping me out with my difficulties, and the Lord directed me to go into exile. So that’s how He lured me into the wilderness. I usually say to my friends that God imprisoned me. No soul was to know where I had gone, and I had no money at all. One day, I will share my exile experiences.

Jesus, do You have a message for Your flock?

Jesus began

I lure my chosen vessels into wildernesses to bring them back into their divine appointed destinies. The season of wilderness is My training ground. This is the place I bring a soul into stillness and silence so that they can hear Me.

During this season of wilderness, I renew your minds and hearts and flush out all the filth a soul has accumulated. This is a season I make My brides to bathe and drink pure, clean water—My Word. This is the place I mould my chosen vessels and teach them My ways.

The Heroes of Faith in the Bible, and even modern saints, all had their seasons of wilderness. Moses, Jacob, Joseph, David, Jeremiah, and Paul. I took them into their season wilderness to draw them from the world to myself. The time in the wilderness is painful, humiliating, humbling, and difficult. This is a necessary furnace to purify a soul to be worthy to accomplish the mission they are called to—to be worthy to carry My grace upon them to minister to the world and to bring glory to My Name.

Many of My brides have resisted My call to them to enter into their season of wilderness. Some of you have entered this season reluctantly. You are full of murmuring and kicking, and complaining. Others have given up and left without allowing the end of their season of wilderness, and thus, not finishing their training.

My brides, whatever difficulties I allow in your life, are for good, not for harm. Allow Me to craft you into the vessel I created you to be. Surrender fully to My discipline and allow Me to walk with you through the furnace of purification so that you can be vessels of honor—Vessels drawing souls into the Kingdom of heaven. Don’t sabotage your destiny, persevere, and wait upon Me. Trust Me.”

That was the end of Jesus’ message.

Until next time, family, remain blessed in the Lord.
