Many in the Bible chose to rise up against God in defiance, either against God directly or against those whom He set as their leaders and the ones in authority, and were met with swift consequences. The following scriptures are but a few examples:
Jeremiah 50:29
“Summon many against Babylon, all those who bend the bow: Encamp against her on every side; let there be no escape. Repay her according to her work; according to all that she has done, so do to her, for she has become arrogant against the Lord, against the Holy One of Israel.
1 Kings 13:21-22
…and he cried to the man of God who came from Judah, saying, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Because you have disobeyed the command of the Lord and have not observed the commandment which the Lord your God commanded you, but have returned and eaten bread and drunk water in the place of which He said to you, “Eat no bread and drink no water”; your body shall not come to the grave of your fathers.’”
Proverbs 1:24-33
Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded, and because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you, when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, and when distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me. ...
Numbers 25:6-9
Then behold, one of the sons of Israel came and brought to his relatives a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and in the sight of all the congregation of the sons of Israel while they were weeping at the doorway of the tent of meeting. When Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he arose from the midst of the congregation and took a spear in his hand, and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and pierced both of them through, the man of Israel and the woman, through the body. So, the plague on the sons of Israel was checked.
Those who died by the plague were 24,000.
The Bible also speaks of obedience to God and those whom He has put in authority.
Deuteronomy 11:26-28
26 See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse—27 the blessing if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today; 28 the curse if you disobey the commands of the Lord your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known.
1 Samuel 15:22
22 But Samuel replied:
“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
as much as in obeying the Lord?
To obey is better than sacrifice.
and to heed is better than the fat of rams.
Isaiah 48:18
8 If only you had paid attention to my commands,
Your peace would have been like a river,
your well-being, like the waves of the sea.
Jeremiah 7:23
23 But I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. Walk in obedience to all I command you, that it may go well with you.
1 John 2:3-6
3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God [a] is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
Prayers:
Father, may we take authority over every spirit of disobedience operating in our lives. The blood of Jesus is against you; we bind you, we rebuke you, and we command you to leave our lives by fire, in Jesus’ name.
Father, we repent of every act of disobedience and rebellion against Your Word, and we ask for Your mercy and forgiveness in Jesus’ name.
Every stronghold of disobedience in our minds, we pull you down and destroy you by the power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name.
We break every covenant and agreement with the spirit of disobedience made knowingly or unknowingly in the name of Jesus.
Every seed of rebellion sown into our hearts by the enemy, we uproot and destroy you now by fire in the name of Jesus.
We renounce every influence of the prince of the power of the air over our lives, and we submit ourselves fully to the authority of Jesus Christ.
Every generational curse of rebellion and disobedience operating in our bloodline, we break you now by the blood of Jesus.
Father, let Your Word dwell richly in our hearts, guiding us to walk in obedience to Your will at all times in Jesus’ name.
Every satanic altar empowering disobedience in our lives, we command you to catch fire and be destroyed now in the name of Jesus.
Every demonic voice speaking rebellion into our lives, we silence you by the blood of Jesus and command you to be destroyed by fire.
Father, baptise us with the spirit of obedience, humility, and submission to Your divine will in Jesus’ name.
We break every demonic chain of stubbornness and rebellion holding us back from walking in God’s purpose in the name of Jesus.
Every spirit of pride fuelling disobedience in our lives, we command you to leave now by fire in the name of Jesus.
Father, let the power of the Holy Spirit transform our hearts and renew our minds to follow Your commands with joy and diligence in Jesus’ name.
Every plan of the enemy to use disobedience to delay our destinies, we cancel and destroy now in the name of Jesus.
Father, clothe us with the garment of righteousness and obedience, and remove every stain of rebellion in Jesus’ name.
Every power fuelling disobedience in our lives, we bind you, rebuke you, and command you to be consumed by fire in Jesus’ name.
Declarations:

We decree and declare that we will walk in the light of God’s Word and reject every temptation to disobey His instructions in Jesus’ name.

We declare that my thoughts, will, and emotions are aligned with the Word of God, and we reject every influence of disobedience in Jesus’ name.
We declare that the spirit of disobedience will no longer have power over our decisions, thoughts, or actions in Jesus’ name.
