Father, you said in your word that we shall not covet our neighbor’s house; we shall not covet our neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is our neighbor’s” (Exodus 20:17), but this generation intentions and motivations are exactly contrary to Your commandment oh Lord.
We repent for this generation father, we repent for our church and for those in our bloodlines, even for our own selves. We repent for given in to this spirit of idolatry, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We believe your word that says that no covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God (Ephesians 5:3-5).
We understand Father that covetousness is the root of sin, that it breaks multiple commandments. We repent for our adultery, for our greed, our idolatry and for murder. Lord forgive us, Lord purify us, purify our desires and the motives of our hearts. Blood of Jesus redeem us, redeem this generation Lord, in Jesus’s Name.
In the authority of Jesus’s name, we dislodge and bind the spirit of Covetousness, we command it to get out of our lives, out of our nation, out of our ministry, get out of the church and our generation. We destroy the stronghold on which it stands to influence our lives and by the blood of Jesus Christ we obliterate the altar from which it gets its power in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. And we call upon a spirit of True contentment and satisfaction in Christ, rather than in possessions.
May we as a people learn to be content in whatever state we are (Philippians 4:11). We ask for a spirit of Godliness over our homes and marriages, because Godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6-8) : “…For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content”Father, we ask for the grace to be content with what we have and to truly trust in you, the source of everything we need.
We will seek you first, we will seek righteousness, for as we draw near to You, we know that You will also draw near to us, and as we Humble ourselves before You Lord, You will exalt us and bless us. And we pray like this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
