Prayer Against Jezebel’s Son — Day 21 The Spirit of Fornication

The Bible speaks of fornication as a sin of the flesh that includes many types of sexual sins. Fornication is more than just having sex outside of marriage but includes all forms of sexual activity outside of the marriage bed. It includes the lust of the flesh, lust of the mind, lust of the eyes, as well as lust of the heart (Matthew 5:28)

But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Pornography has become relatively rampant in our society today. The enemy has gone to great lengths to normalize sexual perversions. The Bible speaks clearly about the sin of sex and sexual activities outside of marriage. Some examples are:

Hebrews 13:4

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

1 Corinthians 7:2

But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.

Ephesians 5:3

But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.

Therefore, it is safe to say that fornication, in its many forms and manifestations, is a sin against our own bodies, and our bodies are temples of God, where the Holy Spirit lives.

1 Thessalonians 4:3

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality;

1 Corinthians 6:18

Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So, glorify God in your body.

There is also an attempt to teach our children that all forms of sexual activity are okay. Our children are exposed to many forms of sexuality to include homosexually, and even transgenderism where they must endure, boys in the girls’ showers or men in the women’s restrooms.

The Bible also speaks of idolatry as being a form of fornication, thereby making it a sin of the spirit and not just of the flesh. Spiritual fornication and idolatry can take many forms as well. Idolatry is anything that we place above the sovereignty, majesty, adoration, and dependence of the true and living God. We can fall into varying forms of spiritual fornication, spiritual idolatry, even as Christians by depending on money, cars, looks, or whatever else might supplant God’s true place in our lives.

Revelation 9:20

20 The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. 21 Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.

So, who benefits from causing the children of God to go after things that God has called sin? The answer is clear; it has been clear since the Garden of Eden when Eve acquired a desire for the very things that God had deemed off limits. This led to the “fall of man”. The same plots, plans and schemes are used today to derail the plans of God on this earth. One of the evil spirits, determined to destroy mankind through sin, particularly the sin of fornication, spiritual as well as physical, is the Spirit of Fornication, one of Jezebel’s 70 sons.

Prayer

Father, we come before Your throne today and repent of the spirit of fornication. We repent for allowing the spirit of fornication and sexual immorality, in all its forms, to govern such significant parts of our lives; whether it is listening to music, watching movies, going to gatherings or places of entertainment where a focus on sex and sexuality is normalized and popularized. We repent of allowing our children to be exposed to these behaviors, such that they will grow up believing these are the norm, “Everybody does it”.

We repent of teaching our children that men can love men and women can love women, when the Bible clearly says that marriage is between a man and a woman and anything else is an abomination (Leviticus, 18:22)

Father, we repent of allowing our children to be told that they were born into the wrong bodies and that they have the right to choose thereby saying that God made a mistake. Heaven forbid.

Father, we also repent of spiritual fornication, idolatry of any kind; those things that we put above the knowledge and love of God. Whether we bow to graven images as in the days of the Old Testament, or we place our cars, houses, money and possession in higher esteem than the knowledge of You, Lord.

Father, we repent of the many idols that we have, sports figures, entertainers, even preachers can become idols. For these, Lord God, we do repent.

Lord, we ask You to break the ties to created things with which we have become entangled in any way. Please destroy all plots, plans and schemes of the wicked, to entice us away from You. Lord, please give us the strength and the wisdom to turn away from those things that are displeasing to You. Please help us to listen to and be led by the Holy Spirit, whom You gave to us as a guide for our lives, to keep us from stumbling and falling into the traps set for us daily. Lord, we ask that You forgive our transgressions and cover us with Your mantle of protection to hide us from the wiles of the enemy. Amen.

James 1:25

25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

Declarations:

Lord, we decree and declare that we will not engage in sexual activities outside of the marriages that You have ordained and sanctified.

We decree and declare that we will keep our hearts, minds, and our eye and ear gates pure, sanctified and pleasing to You, Lord.

We decree and declare that we will watch over our children and the influences that attempt to draw them into permanent lives of sin and away from the knowledge of God.

We decree and declare that we will turn away from those things, and even people, whom we have made into idols and have exalted them above the knowledge of You.

Lord, Your Word says, one can put 1000 to flight and two can put 10,000. Lord, please empower us to put to flight the Spirit of Fornication and all the evil spirits that are working against our lives, our families, our communities and, most of all against the will of You, Lord. Amen.
