O Lord, our God, you are our protection and our covering. We ask for your mercy and grace upon us today. We love you and we believe that you are our Father and that you sent Jesus to die for our sins. We believe that you sent your own Spirit that we might be enabled to love you and know you. We receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior and believe that He is the Christ who came to die for our sins. We choose to follow in His Way trusting that you will bring us safely to our heavenly home with you by the power of the Holy Spirit. We do believe that you have filled us with your Holy Spirit and that you have sealed us with Your Holy Spirit.
We thank you for your mercy and grace for you are Holy, Holy, Holy and not on our own worthiness do we enter into your presence but by faith we believe we have been washed clean by the blood of Jesus and given robes of righteousness to enter into your throne room to receive your mercy and your grace. We humbly ask that you forgive us of all our sins of commission and omission and as you forgive us, we choose to forgive others for hurting us in any way so that we might be reconciled to you and cleansed of all unrighteousness by the precious blood that Jesus shed on the cross for us.
Dear Heavenly Father,
In the sacred stillness of this moment, I come before You, humbly kneeling in spirit, seeking Your divine presence and comfort. As I reflect on the profound words of Psalm 59:7, where it says, “Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?” I am reminded of the power of the tongue and the harm that can come from deceitful words. Lord, I lift up this prayer, asking for Your shield of protection against those who would seek to bring hurt through their words and actions.
O Lord, You are my refuge and fortress; my God, in You will I trust. I recall the many times my heart has been troubled whether by gossip or slander raining down like fearful arrows. I know that there are those around me who wield their words like swords, cutting deeply into the fabric of truth and character. They may believe that no one is listening, that their venomous speech goes unnoticed, but I know, Lord, that You hear every syllable, every whisper, and every breath of malice.
Grant me, Father, the strength and discernment to navigate these hostile environments with grace. Help me to remember that I am not defined by the words of others; rather, I am defined by Your love and truth. Surround me with Your armor, as it is written in Ephesians 6:10-18. Let Your truth be my belt, righteousness my breastplate, and my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. May I carry the shield of faith, which can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one, and let the sword of the Spirit, which is Your holy word, be my weapon in times of contention and strife.
God of compassion, I come before You seeking mercy for those who speak these hurtful words. For those who belch out slander, for those who believe they are untouchable as they wield their tongues against others without thought or empathy, I pray for their hearts to be transformed. Help them see the destruction they cause, not only to the lives of others but to their own souls. May they come to understand the weight of their words and the possession of their conscience. Deliver them from the darkness that binds them, and lead them into the light of Your love.
Protect us against gossip, slander and judgments which have been spoken against us, any curses that have been spoken against us as well as any disparaging words that would tear at our hearts and reputations. Please turn away the enemies that have attacked us because of jealousy, envy or hate for any reason.
We ask that in the powerful Name of Jesus, which is the name above all other names; By the Word of Jesus, that says, No weapon fashioned against your people shall prosper is 54:17, that you guide us into all truth under your protecting blood.
Amen
