Hello family,
May the Lord Jesus shower upon us and our loved ones, His mercies for they are new each morning. Today I share with you, thoughts from my journal that I wrote during my 21 days in solitude, praying and fasting. It's my 11th day. I hope that the other messages we have published concerning my 21 days have been a blessing to you.
"Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect."
These are Jesus' words in Matthew 5:48.
1 Peter 1:16
"…for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
Brothers and sisters, we all yearn to receive the grace to be perfect and holy in the eyes of God. Listen to what Jesus told Faustina on how a soul can achieve holiness and perfection in this life.
Mother Faustina begins,
“In the evening, when I was in my cell, I suddenly saw a great light and a dark grey cross high up within the light. Suddenly, I found myself caught up close to the cross. I gazed at it intently, but could not understand anything, and so I prayed, asking what it could mean. At that moment I saw the Lord Jesus, and the cross disappeared. The Lord Jesus was sitting in a great light, and His legs, up to the knees, were drowned in the light so that I could not see them. Jesus bent toward me, looked at me kindly and spoke to me about the will of the Heavenly Father. He told me that the most perfect and holy soul is the one that does the will of the Father, but there are not many such, and that He looks with special love upon the soul who lives His will. And Jesus told me that I was doing the will of God perfectly...and for this reason I am uniting Myself with you and communing with you in a special and intimate way."
End of words by Faustina.
So very straightforward on how to achieve perfection; doing the will of our Heavenly Father. What is the will of the Father. First the revealed word of God contained in the Bible.
2 Tim 3:16
"All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness"
So, we’ve got to read our Bibles, guys, we’ve got to read our Bibles.
Secondly, the will of God is what He reveals to us by the Spirit through other soul or His vessels, and what he speaks to our hearts, moment by moment by the Holy Spirit.
John 14:26, where Jesus says, "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
John 16:13 Reed
But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come.
Many times, we fail to cooperate with the Holy Spirit because of self-will. Any soul that has followed the teachings of Jesus through, Mother Clare and Mother Elisha, knows that God has His will in all matters concerning our lives, even the things we term as insignificant and of no consequence. Jesus is concerned about what we eat, what we watch, what we listen to, who are our friends, what toys we buy our children, what school we take our children to, how we treat our spouses, how we spend our money. Listen to this scriptural text from Romans 12:2
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God"
So, moment by moment we must always find out;
1) What is good in the eyes of Jesus.
2) What is acceptable is acceptable in the eyes of Jesus
3) We must always want to know, in this situation, in this decision, what is the Perfect will of God.
Last night, while in Adoration, in my heart these words were spoken
"Everything is permissible for me, but not everything is beneficial."
These words are found in 1 Cor. 10:23.
Family, what the Lord, by His grace has helped me to know is that each soul has a different level of sanctification depending on the calling upon their lives. Just like the scripture said above, some souls are permitted to do other things, but probably you and I are not permitted to do the same thing because of the calling, the anointing upon our lives. So, when it comes to obeying what Jesus is uniquely telling you, don't compare with other souls.
On a lighter note, this morning I was in the bathroom and the Lord asked me to look at my teeth. I moved to the mirror and opened my mouth and
He said,
" Do you know why you have a couple of crooked teeth? It because when you were a child you feared the pain of removing the milk teeth. So, another tooth grew under it, causing it not to grow straight. That is how My brides fear suffering. And because they resist it, it causes problems later in your lives. Every trial I allow has its graces for a soul.”
That is what Jesus said when I was looking at the mirror. By the way, it's true I never liked my teeth plucked out.
By the way, it's true, I never liked my teeth been plucked out. But my mother could tell when one was ready to be plucked out because I would have problems eating. A couple of times I was ambushed to forcefully remove it. But my mother could tell when one was ready to be plucked out because, while at the dining table eating, she would see I was having problems chewing. So, a couple of times I was ambushed by my mother and siblings, and the tooth forcibly removed. It was painful; it was uncomfortable, but it was necessary.
Jesus, grant us the grace to be willing to be made willing to surrender to the leading of the Holy Spirit in all things. Amen
