Can God Still Use Me If I Am Sick?

Hello Brothers and Sisters, and Heartdwellers family.

This was another subject that came up in the prayer meeting that we had. Several of the elderly sisters asked if the Lord could use them if they were still sick? Many of them couldn’t understand why they were still struggling with aliments, sickness and pain in their bodies. Simply – why they had not been healed yet. And thought that could be an impediment to God using them.

They felt useless in their service of God because of these limitations. In this message, I will share Mother Clare’s 4 part series called “Why I wasn’t Healed”. So many can understand why sometimes God allows sickness to touch our bodies, or long-time ailments to really try us; and also to understand that there is such a thing as the cross of sickness.

Jesus said in Matthew 16:24-26: Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?”

The Lord gives us all designer crosses in all various shapes and forms; unique, in transforming us into His likeness, and sanctifying us in the process. As someone who is stricken with sickness, or elderly with disabilities and chronic pain, but you desire to serve the Lord; you can offer your cross of sickness to the Lord for the salvation of souls. That is the greatest work that you can do. Being used by God is not having a platform, a stage, a following, or even going out to preach, or even evangelize; but a Christian with Jesus living inside of them, is being used by God every single day. Because in Him, we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:28)

So you see, we have our life in God, and God has His life in us. As He says in John 14:23: Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and We will come to them and make Our home with them.” So everything you do has meaning, everything. Especially when done in love, nothing in your life is wasted as a believer; and God uses your sickness, your ailments, your handicaps and disability, to bring about the salvation of many souls – because suffering releases graces.

Graces for a lost soul to come to Jesus, graces for a lukewarm soul to be on fire again, graces for someone who is on the verge of giving up, to have courage to move forward. Grace for the missionary, preacher or evangelist, to overcome every opposition coming against them to preach the gospel. That is the economy of grace. So we all help one another in the Body of Christ. The Lord uses you to build up His Church.

Remember, God used Paul even with the thorn in his flesh (which many believe to be a sickness), powerfully to share the gospel and write a third of the Bible. God used Jacob to birth the nation of Israel, even with a broken hip and a limp; which many would call a disability today. God used the man who was born blind, to teach his disciples and the religious leaders a lesson, of how some sickness are given to souls, for the glory of God (John 9:1-38.)

So indeed, the Lord can use your sickness for His glory. The next few messages will be a repost from Mother Clare’s teaching she did, to further explain in detail with scripture; of sickness and why the Lord heals some, and doesn’t heal another. To further encourage you of what He may be doing with your life, if you haven’t been healed yet.

God bless you family, until the next message.
