How I Use Rhema Cards To Get A Word From God

Hey brothers and sisters and Youtube family!

Hope you guys are being blessed. So I’ve collected all these cards for myself personally for the past five years in my walk with the Lord since I’ve come to Heartdwellers. And Mother Clare told me about this method. Once again I was just always desiring to hear from the Lord. I really wanted to hear His will and when I found out that we could hear from Him in the way, it excited something in me to do that. And for me, the rhema pages, as I mentioned before on Mother’s channel, have literally transformed and changed my life. So when attacks came against me and other believers around me who thought it was very childish or it wasn’t biblical or it wasn’t scriptural or they felt like maybe I was too attached to the rhemas… That I really just needed to separate myself from them for a while and really just seek the Lord to hear His voice alone. I knew how the rhemas had helped me in my walk. I knew how vital it was for me to really listen, and to apply the words the Lord’s given me in my walk. And how it literally saved me, covered me, and helped me in times of trouble with these rhemas. So regardless of what people were saying to me, I knew that the Holy Spirit was leading me through these rhemas and helped me so much.

I just want to tell you a situation… I think a great example is how the Lord really uses the rhemas to speak to our situation. There was one time I remember I was with my small Bible study group. There was a young man who was a troubled young man in a group and he was kind of coming on to me, you know? And I told him nicely and gently his place and how we wanted this to be an atmosphere of brotherly love and nothing more than that, and he just went off on me in a text. And I was like, “Lord, I am so done! This is it! I have issues with this young man and NO I’m not going to take this! I’m not going to do this!” You know? And I sought the Lord as to what to do because I felt anger and frustration rise in my heart. And I was thinking in my head, “The AUDACITY of this young man!” And I remember I immediately clicked for a rhema like, “Lord, what are Your thoughts concerning this situation?” And He gave me the rhema, “When a person knows they are loved they will follow a leader anywhere.” And I was like, “Really Lord?!! Really, Lord?!!!” So I knew the Lord was speaking to my situation like, “I want you to rather than responding in your flesh, rather than responding in pride, I want you to humble yourself. And I need you to love this soul where he’s at. And it’s because of your love they will follow you in this small group.” And sure enough the Lord was faithful to that. So this young man was troubled. He had complaints with different people. But I knew what the Lord had spoken about him and I was like, “Ok, I just need to love him. That’s all I need to do is love him, and to patiently endure and continue to give grace and mercy in the same way God has given me. So that’s one aspect too as well.

And another situation that was a relationship I was in. And I found myself saying, “No way Lord. I told you that I would not allow this. I cannot do this!” And this was in my walk with the Lord. And I remember immediately pulling a rhema once again, “Lord what’s your heart about this situation?” And, immediately I pulled a rhema and I don’t remember the exact words, but it said something to the point, “Say not that you cannot suffer these things from this man, for he abrades you, he does things that you can’t even think of.” You know it’s just foolishness, you’re not going to deal with it. But yet it says at the end, “It’s foolishness on your part to quit because you don’t know the crown of PATIENCE that’s going to be obtained.” And I was like, “Really Lord?!” So once again the Lord was telling me to endure. Because that was exactly what I was saying in my heart, “I’m NOT going to take…” And every time my pride rises, “I’m NOT going to take…” The Lord’s like, HUMBLE yourself! And ENDURE this! So those were a pivotal point for me.

Another time as well is, when I would get a rhema on sister death, about Saint Francis and how he would approach sister death with joy. And I didn’t fully understand what that meant, but every time I would get that rhema the Lord would be telling me that a huge trial is coming up today, that you are going to have to really die to yourself. And, sure enough, I remember I got that rhema that morning and then that afternoon a family member took me before my church to do an intervention because they thought I was deceived, and I was going in the wrong direction. So I’m saying all that to say that Holy Spirit is so faithful. And guys in God’s word, has He not warned His people? He continuously warns over and over again in order to prepare us for the trials that we’re going to endure. And also too to give us grace. To give us grace so that we can stand and persevere in the trials that He does allow in our lives. As Paul said when he was sleeping that the Holy Spirit told him ahead of time where going he is going to be bound in chains and imprisoned. So the Holy Spirit forewarned him ahead of time, so when he got there to Rome and he was bound in prison, he wasn’t moved at all. He knew that this was in the will of God. And so the rhemas have helped me so much in the deepest trials I’ve had. God is so faithful! He always warns me ahead of time with the rhemas that a trial is coming, so that when it does come, I don’t find myself being so unraveled. I am shaken, but I don’t find myself being as unraveled as I would be I remember, “Ok Lord, you told me this would happen.” So I just offer it to Him and ask Him for the grace to endure it. And so the rhemas have really, really helped.

Or He’ll give me direction as to things that are not in His will. There are times I’ll do something, and then I’ll get a rhema asking Him, “Lord what’s on Your heart?” And get, “Self-will justifies pride.” And I’m like, “Dang Lord!” And then I’ll remember whatever action I just did and I’m like, “Oh, that wasn’t Your will. Dang Lord that was my pride! That was my self-will again.” So all of these things always give direction as to what’s on His heart. What’s going on with my soul. And also too, what’s on His heart. There’s times where He needs to be consoled. There’s times too as well where He would give a word of encouragement to us to press forward, to keep going. And so that’s why I love rhemas! Because the truth is, many of us, we want to hear from the Lord directly. We want to get direction. Especially in the times we are living in that are so full of darkness and such uncertainty. The rhemas truly give us such courage and such peace in the midst of the trials and situations or circumstances to let you know that God is so present with you. And as I mentioned before, I’ve used this to even encourage others when they have come to my home and they’re crying or they’re in distress and we’re praying and I’m like, ask the Lord what’s going on. And sometimes I don’t know what’s going on with that soul. I don’t. You know, but the Lord does. And Holy Spirit is so faithful to pick the exact readings or rhemas that are needed for that soul. So then I can actually give them direction, and wisdom and counsel. And so that’s why I love the rhema cards.

So I encourage you guys to please do the rhema cards. Have a whole day with Jesus whereas you just have a rhema day. I’ve done that with the Lord and it’s just so much fun, especially for those who are creative, who love to draw. For those of you even if you don’t like to draw, that’s ok too as well. You just get fun colored markers and just begin to do rhemas with the Lord. As I mentioned before, it doesn’t just have to be from a holy book or a prophetic book, or a word that you got, or a vision that you saw, or scripture. Literally a rhema could just be a word of encouragement that you can think of. So on my days when I do rhemas with the Lord, I literally just get index cards, and I get a pen, and I just sit before Him and I just ask the Holy Spirit to give me ideas. “What’s some words?” And I process things in my mind. I think of where I’m going, where I’m at now and I’m thinking in my head, “What is a good word that would be a great source of encouragement for me in the future. What word?” You know, just see any thoughts that come up and then me, sister Ruth, and then one of the other girls who was going with me to Ghana, when they were here that week we did a rhema day and it was so much fun! We just thought of different random thoughts that would come to our minds and we would just write them down as a rhema card, knowing that sometime in the future, Holy Spirit may pick that card out and bring us encouragement.

So just yesterday, when I was thinking of doing this video and what I would say to you guys, this thought came to my mind, “I have confirmed this path for you. Move forward, I am with you.” I just made it yesterday. And I was like, “You know what? That’s a good word! I’m going to write that down, because one day I’m going to need that to continue to press forward!” You know? And I have one card, I was trying to find it for you guys. It’s one of my favorites. But it’s called, “A spirit of SHUT UP.” LOL. And It has a mouth with a zipper. And then on the bottom it says, “Keep silent. Pray!” And so that came to my mind when I was listening to another pastor. She was a funeral pastor. Her name is Heather Lindsey. And she was talking about how females, we just just love to talk all the time. Especially when we’re in relationships or situations. We always have something to say. But Holy Spirit quickened to her, “Girl, get a spirit of SHUT UP! Hush! Be quiet before you cause more trouble with your mouth!” You know? As it says in the scripture, “A continuous woman.” But I remember I laughed so hard and I was like, I need to write that down and remember that too! Because I know I’m going to need that word one day to just be like, “No, no, Mother Elijah, just keep silent, just pray. Don’t say nothing about it.” So, those are ideas, once again, that you can come up with. It’s so much fun guys to just do rhema cards. Different words, thoughts, messages that you got from the past, words that you heard, wise sayings. Thoughts that have some into your own mind that you know would encourage you a lot in the future.

And so this is another one that I loved to do the drawing on here. It says, “Grapes do not worry when they are crushed and pressed, because they will become wine for joy.” And you can see little feet here at the top, pressing on grapes. And that’s a card where the Lord is reminding me, “You’re being pressed. The anointing is in the pressing. So you are going to become a source of joy for others, and that’s why I press you down.”

And another one I actually got from Mother Clare’s card stock and I just made it myself. But it says, “You will have children, spiritual children, as much as the sands of the sea shore.” Prophetic word from Mother Clare. So I remember we were in prayer and she just said that randomly, “You’re going to have a rhema book, and you’re going to have spiritual children as much as the sands of the seashore.” And I was like, “Wow!” So that’s what I’m saying guys. Evert prophetic word, write them down! Write the things that have been spoken over you, that have been prayed over you, things that you have heard in prayer. And if you haven’t heard anything, the holy books that you’re getting rhemas from, or the rhemas on the website… the messages, the rhema messages that you receive, make a rhema out of it. Because in each rhema, and especially in the rhemas you get from the website, there is a message. There’s a word of instruction or council from Jesus specifically for you. And that’s why it’s important to write them down on a card so that in the future when you’re high and dry and can’t hear from the Lord, just pull the card.

And this is another one here. “Words are like seed. It takes time to grow. Give grace time to work. Don’t stop praying, declaring, or speaking life.” And this actually was from Father Ezekiel. He always would tell me that. “Give grace time to work.” That was the five fingers. So when I would come in frustrated, or I’m like, “I’m frustrated because the Lord’s not answering my prayer. Or it seems like a situation hasn’t changed. He always would tell me, “Give grace time to work.” You know every word that we speak is a seed. It will bear life in good time. And so that’s a wonderful card, a wonderful illustration.

And then some too as well are just completely scripture. Like I said, if you’re not an artist, that’s ok. So I also began to do rhema cards from the Bible promises. “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God and trust also in Me.” So this one I would have TRUST highlighted at the top. And I would get that from the Bible promises.

So as I mentioned before, the rhema cards are a great source or tool to be a source of encouragement and a source of direction. And also a source of warning. The Lord will really give you direction through these rhema cards if you trust in the Lord. And as you would do with the Bible Promises book you do the exact same thing with your rhema file card box. I take my sword of truth and discernment (left shoulder) and make the sign of the cross in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and then I plead the blood of Jesus over the cards and bind any lying spirits off the cards in Jesus’ name. Because lying spirits can get in the cards. When you get a card and you find yourself completely and utterly discouraged by the card… It takes away all your peace. It makes you anxious because you’re not understanding what the Lord is saying, or what’s going on, or why He gave you that card. If you lose your peace, it’s always a sign that there are demons around. That’s always a sign.

So you have to be mindful of that. And then just do it again. Cover the cards in the blood of Jesus and pick cards. Or, I should say too, on the website when you guys get a rhema from the website, Mother Clare told us to do that as well. Do the sign of the cross over the computer, “I bless the computer in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and I plead the blood of Jesus over this rhema link in Jesus’ name.” That’s what I say. And I just click the rhema link and it pulls up. And all these prayers you can say in your heart. You don’t have to say it out loud. The Holy Spirit hears you, and God will honor that prayer too as well, to make sure that you don’t get any deceiving or lying rhemas, or direction from the Lord.

So I hope that this encouraged you as well. Please make your own rhema card file. It really is so much fun! And it’s amazing some things that may come to my mind. I write down my card thinking, “I don’t know if that’s from you Holy Spirit.” And I pull it like a year later. Or I pull it five months later and I’m like, “Wow! That really was from the Lord!” That’s confirmation. And it’s amazing. I have prophetic words, prophetic visions, prophetic promises, even prayers that I’ve written down on cards. And it’s amazing how in the right time, the Lord is so faithful to do it in due season. At the right time, just when I need it I’ll pull something out and I’m like, “Wow! This is from five years ago. Thank you Lord!” Or it’s from three years ago. And I’m like, “I remember this card! I remember this situation!” And it brings me encouragement. It’s almost like an altar of faith. That’s what the rhema cards are.

As I mentioned, so many times, all through scripture, Moses erected altars. Jacob did the exact same thing. Where he went, he erected altars. And why are altars erected? To remember God’s faithfulness. And so I feel rhema cards are this generation, our generation, where we can erect altars of remembrance. I go back to these cards and these prophetic visions and these words and I remember, “Wow, two years ago I was in such a dire situation and God gave me this word, and look where I am now.” He’s so faithful. So it just continues to remind you of God’s faithfulness, and remind you too as well that he’s with you. He’s present to encourage you. And so that’s why I just want to encourage you guys to do your own rhema card file once you pull the rhema’s from the website every single day.

So get three rhemas a day after prayer and if you’re in need of more words… If a situation arises in the day, you don't have to be restricted to just three rhemas. Don’t get too excessive, because you can get compulsive. I have too as well. I can be very compulsive. You can go to the Bible Promises and pull rhema cards again just to see, “Lord what’s on Your heart? What are you trying to tell me?” So you’re more than welcome to go to the Lord as many times as you feel necessary in order to get direction. But once again, when it gets too excessive and you’re not getting clarity, step back, when you find yourself getting confused, and trust and WAIT ON HIM to make things clear.

So I hope that encouraged you guys as well to start your own rhema card file, and also to really trust Holy Spirit to lead and guide you through an anointed word in season, because He will give it to you. …Wait! There’s more! LOL. Another thing I want to add. If you get a rhema from the website or you get a rhema from your own card file and you pull a card and the words that the Lord is speaking or the words that the Holy Spirit has given you doesn’t resonate with your spirit at all whatsoever, He may be talking to you about someone else. Someone close to you. And He’s bringing things up to the surface. And so that also once again something for you to discern using the Bible Promise book. “Lord, is this word about me? Or is it about someone else?” So ask the Lord, “Is it about me?” Go to the Bible Promises to confirm if it’s for you. Or it may be also like I say, someone else that the Lord is trying to address a situation or circumstance, bringing it into the light for you so you can pray about it, or make a decision concerning that. So that’s another aspect of seeking the Lord for a word, that many times, if it’s not resonating with you then it may be about someone else around you, close to you. So it’s very important to discern that so that you don’t fall into judgment, because I think sometimes it’s happened here in the community more often than not, when someone will pull a card and it’s not a good card.

It may be about sin or judgment or a wrong direction and the person will be like, “Oh I know the Lord’s talking about this person or this situation or He’s talking about the community or He’s talking about the church.” And He’s like, “No” LOL Sister Ruth would be like, “Na bro, the Lord’s talking about you” He’s talking directly to you just like He did with me today. You guys saw that. I got self righteousness. I could have easily played it off and been like, “Oh maybe this is just an example.” But He wanted to address something specifically to me that was a hidden sin of mine. And so it’s important once again when you get a word if it’s not resonating with your heart, then seek the Lord. Maybe it’s about someone else. And make sure that it is about someone else before you start accusing or throwing judgment to anyone else besides you, if the Lord’s bringing things up.

And also too as well, the enemy is good at getting us all derailed even when you use this method. And Mother Clare did a message about it. Jesus taught us about the sucker punches. And those are when you’re having a great day, you’ve had an awesome time with the Lord, it seems like you and the Lord are doing well, and all of a sudden you get a rhema, a message, or just thoughts come to you… And a lot of times it make come through the rhemas. For me that’s how the enemy sucker punches me, is I’ll get a rhema and it’s completely off from what I’m feeling the Lord is directing me, from where me and Jesus stand. I’m like, “I thought You and I were doing good Lord!” And all of a sudden this rhema sends me into a tailspin, making me now so focused on myself. Self absorbed. Being depressed, being completely discouraged. Just like that (snap)! That’s always a red flag. “Wait a minute, there’s demons around!

This has to be a sucker punch because all of a sudden I was doing good. I thought me and Jesus were on a good page. Where is this feeling coming from? Why did I get this word?” And you’ve completely lost your peace. You’re anxious, and you’re completely discouraged. A lot of times, once again, just remember, demons are around. Remember that’s a sucker punch. And so go before the Lord and sit with Him to get His perspective and to make sure no lying spirits or demons got into your readings, or into the word, or into the message that God has given you. Because they love to do that to get us confused and completely feeling disconnected and distant from the Lord. So that’s another way to just discern once again what is really going on. So I just wanted to add that, in this message.
