Chapter 3

The next phase of my deliverance began with a call from a friend. He wanted me to attend a deliverance seminar which he found to be very good, and he had learned a lot. This friend pestered me until I agreed to give it a shot. While I sat listening to this man teaching on the family deliverance the Lord told me

· to attend the whole seminar

· to not go home until after the seminar

Earlier I shared how the Lord had ordered me to go to another man for deliverance, but I refused. I realized that He did not forget His order, nor did He change His mind. However, He is faithful to help us walk through the journey of obedience when we humbly submit to His leadership.

The seminar went on daily for another two weeks. I attended every session and spent the nights at the WTM prayer mountain. The seminar was informative. There were some bits of nuggets I took to the mountain nightly, but they could not justify the commitment the Lord was asking of me. I continued to question Him until the last day of the seminar. That was when it became personal for me.

During ministry time, something came over me and took control of my whole body for the next two hours. People at the seminar prayed for me, they battled the demonic manifestations in me, one personality after another until the end. After that intense prayer and deliverance session had ended, there were noticeable changes in my life.

Tangible signs of victory

There were two physical objects which confirmed that the battle was over and that that phase of my deliverance was completed.

The first object was my old dried-up umbilical cord which mysteriously found its way into my pocket. This object was kept by my mother in a cauldron in my shrine in the forest. After I had accepted Christ, she moved them to a secret place that I did not know.

The second object I found was a large dead python on my bed when I got home that evening. This python had been my guardian spirit since I was born. It was lying over the bed tied with a red cloth which I knew was my baby carrier cloth. This red cloth had also been kept by my mother in that cauldron in the forest.

Breakthrough in courtship

An outstanding breakthrough that I experienced was in my search for a life partner. Up to that time, I had had a terrible track record with courtship. To help you understand this, let me give you some information about my past.

Married when 1 day old

When I was 1 day old, my mother obeyed the command from the reigning priestess to take me to the jungle to be married to her. I entered into this contractual relationship with the reigning priestess in an elaborate ceremony attended by many high-ranking satanists from all over Africa. That ceremony was conducted by two officials from my current faith.

Past courtships

As a result of that, any attempt on my part to get married was impossible as an apparent evil power would attack every potential candidate. Some were attacked, physically beaten, or chased away by an old woman in their dreams. And when they woke up the next day, some would succumb to a mysterious life-threatening illness. Others had unexplainable accidents.

In fact, before my deliverance, the last woman that I had dated died suddenly, ten days before our wedding. During all those courtships, the priestess, whom I had married while an infant, would remind me in my dreams that any other marriage in my life was unlawful.

Breakthrough in Marriage

After my dramatic deliverance, I went to the Lord to petition for a Godly spouse. When He showed me His choice for my spouse, I flatly refused.

The Ugly Choice

What happened was, one day a lady came to me seeking prayers for her deliverance after she had exhausted all other avenues. At first glance, it was obvious that she was a victim of witchcraft because demons had deformed her face horribly. As she entered the room, I heard a voice saying, “This is your wife.” I could not believe it.

The Beauty Underneath

Well, after we had prayed for 20 minutes, the power of The Lord Jesus restored her face, and it was beautiful! I began to repent before the Lord. I cried to Him throughout that night to give her to me as my wife. That sister returned the next day with a Thanksgiving offering for the miracle of her restoration. She also presented a seed offering for me to pray for her fiancé who was returning from the United Kingdom for their wedding preparations.

The Daring Proposal

The sister subsequently became a member of the church and we continued to pray for her marriage. My heart went back to the threats of the unbreakable marriage contract as a baby, and I cried to God.

About a month later, when I could not tolerate this impasse any further, I proposed to her, telling her what the Lord had told me when I first saw her. Initially, she rejected my proposal but three months later, she returned with a positive confirmation from God that we were meant for each other.

Two weeks after that, my financial position improved: I moved into a good house and the ministry began to grow in numbers. So I decided to propose to the sister again. Praise God, she agreed to marry me. We got married without any hindrances this time. All dreams and visions of the evil woman and the snake had disappeared.

Learning from my Deliverance

I have learned that the Lord gives us different giftings. He does not necessarily give any one person all the pieces required for the work of deliverance. That is why He wanted me to humble myself and seek out others for help even though I had been ministering effectively in that office.

I used to pray, convinced that my deliverance depended on my prayer. I thought I had already earned my deliverance and just had to reach out and claim by will or by force, Now I know better.

Your deliverance depends on God’s intervention. He will honor those who fear Him. His Word clearly says so.

Psa. 25:12

Who is the man who fears the Lords?

Him shall He teach in the way He chooses

Psa. 25:14-15

The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him,

And He will show them His covenant.

My eyes are ever toward the Lord,

For He shall pluck my feet out of the nets.

So that closes day 3 and chapter 3 of the book “Freedom from Bondages in My Father’s House. What did we learn in this chapter and what is the Lord saying to us?

Here Pastor James gives an account of how his deliverance took place to be an example for those who have said I have done everything, fasted, prayed self-deliverance prayers, etc why is there still bondage in some areas of my life?

You see he was born again serving the Lord but there was still bondage in the area of marriage that took God’s revelation, intervention, and obedience in heeding God’s voice to go to the man of God for deliverance.

#1 Everyone’s deliverance journey will not be the same but you must humble yourself and be obedient to the Lord’s instructions.

For example, I had left everything to follow Jesus. I had taken my vows as third order Franciscan renouncing the world even my world clothes for a habit and lived on a prayer mountain for three years praying into the mission and vision the Lord gave me about the City of God community and also the promise of marriage to a young man in Ghana. Then Jesus interrupted me one day in prayer that I had to go to Zambia for a mission trip. Wasnt planned and honestly wasn’t so excited to go because it wasn’t my desire but I went in obedience only to get there and found out my trip to Zambia was tied to the bondage of my marriage being released. It was after prayer and a Lord’s supper ceremony the Lord told me to break the agreement I had with a spiritual husband that only 4 months later unbeknownst to me I could finally get married. When I had been praying for this marriage for three years.

Imagine if I had said no, made an excuse, or didn’t want to go because I was going alone. It’s so important that we are simply obedient to the will of God even when we don’t understand.

So let me ask the question what has the Lord been telling you to do that you haven’t done yet? Or that you are too shy to do because you may care what others think or what you will look like if you have to confess to someone or go to someone for deliverance?

Is there anything instruction from the Lord you are being disobedient about?

I gently admonish you to please listen to the Lord and do exactly what He is telling you to do. There may lie the deliverance and liberation you’re looking for.
