Fear of man
Proverbs 29:25: “The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.”
Father we confess to the Lord any and all occasions when we have failed to obey You because of what other people might think or do. Forgive us for idolizing other people’s opinions. Forgive us when we made an idol of comfort when we preferred to disobey God rather than deal with other people’s opinions.
We come before You in the name of Jesus, and we confess that the fear of man has been a snare in our lives, in our families and in this generation , but we declare that Your perfect love casts out fear. We ask that You deliver us from this bondage and fill us with Your holy boldness.
Father Lord please deliver us, our families , our children, our leaders over the nation, and this generation from the fear of man. Lord to help us place our trust in You alone, not in any person no matter their influence, honor or power. Deliver us from any snares we have entered into because of the fear of man.
Give us wisdom to avoid any future snares. Show us the difference between being a blessed peacemaker vs. disobeying God in order to pacify people.
Lord we confess especially in this generation we have put value, and reliance on what other people “may” think about us, compared to the value we place on what GOD thinks about us.
Lord, help us to keep our eyes fixed on You and to trust in Your unfailing love. Grant us the wisdom to discern Your will and the courage to follow it, even when it goes against the expectations of others.
We pray that we, our families , our children, this generation and the nations will grow in the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom. Help us to internalize Your word, which says, For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 Give us faith to trust you in all things.
O God most high, we acknowledge today that you are the only God and God over all. Father, grant us the strength to resist the temptation to sin, to fear man instead of you, and give us your grace that might trust you in everything because you are worthy of our trust. O faithful God, we take refuge in the safety of your arms.
Now the God who is mighty, the Lamb who is worthy, and the Spirit who is near, strengthen you to live faithfully in these evil days and all the days until Jesus comes. Amen.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
