Root Causes Of Bondages Day 2

Updated: Oct 7, 2024

Chapter two

I thought I was a new creation in Christ Jesus. How is it that the issues of my father’s house still kept me in bondage after almost ten years in ministry? After I had accepted the Lord  Jesus as Lord and Savior, the scriptures such as those below seemed to affirm that Christ delivered me from all bondages at the cross.

2 Cor 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away, and all things are become new.

Gal 2:20

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ who lives in me: and the life I life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

This was my understanding and theology when God showed me my need for deliverance. And now I am convinced that after you are born again, you will need to go through personal deliverance and break the bondages of your father’s house.

Family this is what I talked about in the first video covenants and foundations. That we all need deliverance even if we are born again and in Christ because of sin in our lives.

Sin and its Fruits

God warned Adam and Eve in the Garden that the consequence of sin is death. This did not change the New Covenant, where Apostle Paul in Rom. 6:23 reminds us that “the wages of sin is death” Apostle James also emphasized that fact in his letter…Jam 1:15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.” This death produces three tangible fruits.

1. Separation from God

2. Separation from the blessings and provisions of God

3. Opens people to the dominion of darkness

Forgiveness and the Consequences of Sin

The foundational promise in the New Covenant for every believer is enshrined in 1 Jn 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Forgiveness of sin usually comes with a strong warning not to continue in that same sin or else a worse thing will come upon the person. However, forgiveness of sins does not address the consequences of sin. They are two different things. Forgiveness comes by the blood of Jesus but getting free from the effects of sin comes at a price.

It was this consequence of sin that God was seeking to deal with in my life. The consequences of sin open doors for the kingdom of darkness to continue exerting its influence in our lives. These open doors remain open by spiritual agreements that we have personally entered into or were made on our behalf.

Spiritual Agreements

These agreements (called ‘covenants’) give the spiritual world legal access to our lives. Therefore, if people have made evil spiritual covenants, then demons are free to come and go as they please, in the lives of these people.

Spiritual ‘covenants’ usually do not have expiry dates. That explains the cause of similar misfortunes in some families from generation to generation. The solution is to break those contracts. It does not matter how much you cry and plead with them; they will not go away unless you address the root causes by breaking the agreement.

All agreements have benefits and consequences. Breaking demonic contracts means that we deny ourselves of their benefits and face consequences. The demons must be cast out by the authority of The Lord Jesus Christ and the doors sealed with His blood. Until that is done, we will not find lasting relief.

In the next chapter, I will share the process of my deliverance to clarify what I mean.

So that closes day 2 and chapter 2 of the book “Freedom from bondages in My Father’s House”. What did we learn in this chapter and what is the Lord saying to us?

#1 Being born again does not exempt you from bondage caused by the consequence of sin

#2 All born-again Christians have to go through some form of personal deliverance. Everyone’s deliverance will vary based on the degree of bondage they have been in and their family history.

#3 Forgiveness comes by the blood of Jesus but getting free from the effects of sin comes at a price through deliverance

#4 Evil agreements and covenants that have been made by you or any family member will not go away unless you address the root and break the agreement

#5 Even after an evil agreement is broken there are consequences.

You will have demonic attacks and opposition. You must cast the demons out in the authority of the name of Jesus Christ and close every open door sealed with the blood of Jesus.
