Seated With Christ In The Heavenly Realms

Hello brothers, sisters & Heartdwellers family. I am Robby, a Swahili translator for Heartdwellers Africa in Kenya East Africa.

By the way, we have an active Heartdwellers group in China now and Father Derrick & Mother Elisha have been there for just over a week meeting them to equip, teach & train them and soon Mother Elisha will share their mission to China. The family is growing. Praise to Jesus. Let us continue praying for them.

A couple of days ago the Lord put in my heart to search scriptures and share with the group on who we are in Christ. Past few months assignments against the bride of Christ have intensified and many of us are hard pressed on every side, perplexed, persecuted, and struck down, overwhelmed by attacks from the enemy.

The Lord through messages to Mother Elisha has been exhorting us to remember WHO HE IS & WHO WE ARE IN HIM and take Authority & regain the ground we have lost to the enemy.

But we all get overwhelmed & crushed and many can barely live a victorious life a midst the raging war around us.

How many of us remember these words from the Psalmist [in Psalms 91:7]:

“Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.”

Let us remind ourselves of who our heavenly spouse Jesus Christ is now.

Colossians 1:15-18:

“Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. [He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.] Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything.”

This is who Jesus Christ our Lord is.

Who am I in Christ Jesus? Who are you in Christ Jesus? Who is the Bride of Christ in HIM?

Ephesians 2:4-6:

“But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.”

I read a powerful article by JENNY LYNN titled “Seated in Heavenly Realms”. It clearly explains this powerful truth. I hope this will shakes us out of our slumber and makes us rise up and walk in the authority granted to us in our union with Jesus Christ.

She begins,

The Word says we are seated with Christ in heavenly places far above all powers and principalities of this world. That means we can live above our circumstances because we fight from a place of victory.

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”

Ephesians 2:6 (NIV)

There are days when we all, as followers of Jesus, feel weak and overcome by the realities of our circumstances. The waves come crashing in. Our perspective is narrow and filled with grief or despair at what may come. What reality do we stand on when everything seems so unclear and uncertain? We call the Bible “Good News,” but where is this good news on our darkest days?

The answer is found in Ephesians 2:6 when the Word says, “God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus!” Due to the sacrifice of Jesus, God not only raised us up FROM the death our sins require, but He also raised us up TO be seated with Jesus in Heavenly places, “Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion” (Ephesians 1:21).

Once we understand the position we are fighting from, our current circumstances quickly pale and minimize. We fight “the good fight” high in the heavenly places, far above every power and tactic the enemy tries to throw at us. God put “all things under [Jesus’s] feet” (Ephesians 1:22) and we are sitting right there next to Jesus.

Jesus has authority over everything on this Earth and we are seated beside Him. He imbues us with authority to speak life, calm storms, heal sickness, proclaim truth, cast out demons, etc. We must take hold of our position and the authority that comes from being co-heirs with Christ, seated with Him in heavenly places. When we do, we see victory before it is even realized in our circumstances. We know with certainty that the battle will be won. We know that we are safe, loved and protected, because we look right beside us and see Jesus!

Be encouraged today. You are not a victim of the changing circumstances of life. You’re a victor seated far above this world with Christ Jesus. He so lovingly gave His life so you can live abundantly and victoriously in this world, bringing glory to His name.

Before we pray, let us understand that it does not mean walking in this position we will not face tribulations & trials. No. We will but just like our Lord we will be victorious over them. We will be thrown in the Furnace but we will not burn. We will be thrown in the den of lions but we won’t be eaten for dinner.

Prayer –

Thank you, Jesus that You not only died for the remission of our sins but to give us a new life, seated beside You in heavenly places. Bring us deeper revelation of how our placement with You affects our identity and the authority included in our new nature. We are awe and we thank you. Amen.
