Hello, brothers, sisters, and Heartdwellers family.
The powerful testimony of Pastor James Kawalya has taken social media by storm with the video now having over 5 million views. Even my family members heard about it and had watched the video because his testimony was going so viral.
The Lord indeed said this is the year of covenant prayer and I believe he has used Pastor James Kawalya to stir the hearts of his people to be on fire for prayer for what He is about to do.
So, for those who haven’t watched the testimony I strongly encourage you to watch all of it, I promise you won’t be disappointed. And if you haven’t gotten a chance to watch it, I took some notes covering many points he made concerning covenant prayer and how the enemy can cause a breach when an assignment of division is released and curses land.
He gives the story of a minister and their congregation and how as a witch he strategically dismantled their unity and the bonds of brotherly love as he cursed the group day and night. He also sent in agents to bring about their separation.
This teaching I am going to share with you just doesn’t go for a pastor or those called into ministry, but this is valuable information that every Christian needs to know.
Paul said in 2 Corinthians 2:11,
….lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
We have a very real enemy who is always scheming, prowling around seeking whom he may devour. Our greatest weapon as Christians and the greatest fear Satan has is a Christian who prays and walks in humility.
Acts 12:2-5,11-17,
When Peter was delivered from death because of the intercession of the Church 2 he had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword. 3 When he saw that this met with approval among the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Festival of Unleavened Bread. 4After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover.
5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
Then Peter came to himself and said, “Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”
12 When this had dawned on him, he went to the house of Mary the mother of John, also called Mark, where many people had gathered and were praying. 13Peter knocked at the outer entrance, and a servant named Rhoda came to answer the door. 14 When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed she ran back without opening it and exclaimed, “Peter is at the door!”
15 “You’re out of your mind,” they told her. When she kept insisting that it was so, they said, “It must be his angel.”
16 But Peter kept on knocking, and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished. 17 Peter motioned with his hand for them to be quiet and described how the Lord had brought him out of prison. “Tell James and the other brothers and sisters about this,” he said, and then he left for another place.
In this story you see the power of covenant prayer, the power of agreement when one or two believers come together there is an agreement a covenant made with them and God for what they are praying for.
And Jesus said, John 14:13-17
And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
In 1 John 5, he goes on to say, if you ask anything according to the Lord’s will. When we ask in the Lord’s will he will hear and answer. It was his will for Peter to be released and because the church prayed in agreement it was done.
The Lord wants to do the same for your family, for your loved ones, for your church, for your community, and for your nation.
The definition of a covenant is a legal agreement. The spiritual world works by legal authority. Satan and his demons cannot do anything if they are not given legal authority over a person or any area.
So how is legal authority given to them? Through sin which allows curses to land. As the scripture says, Proverbs 26:2
Like a sparrow in its flitting, like a swallow in flying, So, a curse without cause does not come to pass.
Can a Christian be cursed? Yes! When we allow open doors in our lives through sin like anger, jealousy, envy, strife, bitterness, resentment, unforgiveness, gossip, backbiting, immorality of any kind, dishonesty, judgment, accusation, complaining, ingratitude…., you name it. Then curses land.
Who curses you? I used to wonder this myself before the Lord revealed to me, I came from a bloodline of witchcraft. I didn’t understand, who could be my enemy. Or, who would curse me?
But as we go forth in the teachings of pastor James Kawayla, we will come to find out there is a whole network of people and groups who curse Christians for a living. They work for the kingdom of darkness. These souls have given themselves over to the worlds of Satan ─ witches and those in the occult. Many times, it can be someone closest to you who in a fit of anger speaks a negative word over you ─ your parents, your siblings, and even your spouse. A negative word can become a curse on your life.
The Bible tells us there is life and death in the tongue. We don’t realize how powerful our words are and how many times we have been used to curse someone.
Ecclesiastes 7:21-22
Do not give heed to everything that people say, or you may hear your servant cursing you; 22 your heart knows that many times you have yourself cursed others.
When the Lord gave me that Scripture the first time I didn’t understand because I thought to myself there I no way I have ever cursed someone Lord how? And then he began to reveal every negative thought I had of someone, accusation, or judgment out loud or even in my heart becomes a curse that is why the Lord wants us to be repentant daily and keep our hearts clean so that a curse cannot land without a cause. So, curses can come from the enemies of the cross such as the servants of Satan, or even those close to you.
These are the pointers taken from Pastor James Kawalya when he was a witch. These tactics they used to destroy a small church that began a covenant prayer meeting. It was one pastor and twenty women who agreed to meet for 90 days and pray for 6 hours. They would all show up at the same time and if anyone was late or missing it broke the covenant they made with God and they all agreed that they would have to start all over again. Their prayers were so effective that if they went through praying for 90 days together, they would have created a stronghold over a major highway in Uganda, for 70 years ─ that no works of darkness could touch for 70 years. He was summoned to cause them to break the covenant.
Satan does this to us every day as Christians by using his servants and demons who are sent out on assignments to cause us to break our covenant with God ─ to break our prayer time and to cause open doors in our lives, especially when we are praying ─ and praying for breakthrough. These are the tactics of the devil and how he works not only in ministry, or prayer groups but also in our personal prayer lives.
So, the group made a covenant between themselves. As I mentioned before a covenant is an agreement. They came in agreement with one another.
1. No one could join them besides those whom they started with.
2. They would start and end at the same time, all together.
3. If anyone was late, it didn’t matter if it was the 89th day, they would start all over again, for another 90 days.
So, the number one point to take away from this is that the enemy always tries to cause division first.
Pastor James mentioned the first attack is marriage, (especially if a believer is married, and especially if he/she is in ministry), is to attack their marriage. Because marriage is the first covenant [given by God]. When they attack your marriage and you get upset with one another, that causes a breach. Then the power you both have together is lost because you are not in agreement.
Satan maps our lives to know our weaknesses and open doors.
The enemy has files stacked up against us using generational patterns to get legal access.
Pastor James mentioned they were given books, (one even with 500 pages) about each soul in the group to map out their life. This book was from the spiritual realm and talked about the soul’s bloodline, background, and family to see certain cycles and weaknesses they could use to bring this soul down.
So, it’s the same with us. Satan has a file stacked high, on each of us. The demons have had centuries to study mankind and, just like we have angels assigned to us, in the kingdom of darkness we have monitoring spirits assigned to us. Familiar spirits are assigned to us that have been with our ancestors and now us. So, they know what to do, what button to push, and what circumstances to cause trauma or pain that becomes a wound that they can use against us to cause a breach.
3. How does a curse land? By offense and sin.
When we respond or react in our flesh the curses land.
When a button is pushed, wounds aren’t healed, offense is taken, and, when the curses land, the assignment is effective. You become less sensitive in the spirit, unable to discern correctly.
Then, they pull you away from your quiet time with the Lord. You start praying less and less or give in to distractions when you should be spending time with Him.
For this pastor, they projected eczema on his daughter, which caused the daughter to cry and have sleepless nights. The pastor had to take care of her, so he didn’t have time to pray. He would be too tired from taking care of his sick child, to be with the intercessory group.
4. They can project sickness.
Satan can project sickness onto those around you, who become a distraction from your prayer time. He mentioned the reason they were able to touch the daughter was because the pastor didn’t bring her into the covenant. So, it’s very important when doing covenant prayer, that you bring all your loved ones into the covenant so they are protected and cannot be used as a source of distraction.
5. Include the family
During the time of prayer, always commit and dedicate your family and loved ones to the covenant.
6. They will try to make you defile your covenant.
They caused the pastor to defile the covenant by having one of the witches lead worship on the altar. The pastor allowed her to join the church, amidst the rebuttals of the intercessors. They had all agreed not to let anyone join, and then the pastor let her lead worship, which polluted the altar.
Now, how does that apply to you and everyday Christians? We can easily defile our covenant with God as well by allowing unclean things in our lives. The things that we watch, that we listen to, the things that come out of our mouths, and any immoral activity we engage in defiles the covenant we have made with God ─ that we were his temple, set apart holy for Him. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
This is convicting for me because I have found myself giving more and more allowances to the flesh with what I watch or even look at. When in the past I didn’t entertain any social media activity, nor would I take a second look at a post that promoted the world and gossip or celebrities or any movies that weren’t holy. But I have backslidden and need to get back to being more disciplined with my flesh again. Lord, help me.
7. The enemy’s tactic is to isolate you…
… from your church, your intercessory group, and even from Jesus. They got one major pastor to be so busy with ministry that he became disconnected from the intercessory group that had gotten him where he was. Pastor James said, one of the things the enemy will do is isolate you from the team. You become too busy for them, too executive. So, you no longer value their input or discernment. You no longer have a close relationship with them, yet they are the soldiers on the frontline and can tell you what is ahead or warn you of things when you cannot see. Because the pastor didn’t take heed to his intercessors the enemy was able to cause a breach in the group and he lost that covering the intercessors provided.
As a regular Christian and not necessarily a pastor they do the same with you. They will cause you to isolate yourself from other believers, so you no longer have additional guiding light or anyone to fall back on. Their ultimate goal is to isolate you from Jesus.
This happened in our group where I began to get too busy to be with them or to pray with them. I no longer was telling them what was going on with me and they felt disconnected from the mission. Not realizing I fell right into the enemy’s trap to cause the most valuable people the Lord has put in my life to fulfill this work. I no longer had a bond to be able to get discernment or direction from them. As a minister never do that.
Pastor James mentioned this pastor who was a teacher. He didn’t speak with charisma or work any miracles he just taught the Word. However, anytime he was speaking the whole atmosphere was charged and became a principality over that place because he was in agreement with the intercessors around him. That is the power of agreement, that is the power of intercession.
That goes for regular everyday Christians as well. When you are in agreement with your spouse, your fellow Christian brother or sister, standing on something in prayer, you become a principality over that situation and the enemy can no longer gain access or ground. He will try, by projecting smoke screens ─ causing contradicting situations ─ to cause you to doubt. He will toss the waves to and fro violently to cause you to lose faith. But stand your ground. You already gained it when you came to an agreement with your brother or sister in Christ in prayer or with your spouse. Now, all you have to do is wait and see the salvation of the Lord.
8. They break the wall around the minister. Satan looks to break your wall of defense which is prayer.
They cause the intercessory group to get offended and withdraw their prayer, and protection around the minister. Or they get you and your husband to be offended at one another and stop praying together. Or you and your brother/sister Christ stop praying together. Then there is a breach ─ people are leaving and are being taken away.
So, concerning those in ministry, our pastors or spiritual covering have authority only to the degree, or dependent upon those who pray for them. The same goes if you are a minister your authority is to the degree your intercessors are praying for you. It depends on that.
To go further, as a wife, your husband’s authority or effectiveness is to the degree you surround and cover him.
Wives, though the Lord has made the man the head as our covering, we are called to be intercessors to cover him, so that he can continue to cover us. When we stop praying for our husbands, they become an open target and lose their authority in the spirit. You begin to fight each other, there is a breach. Now you don’t realize it but you are no longer covered as you should be because your husband has stopped praying.
Our spiritual covering has the authority, but their authority depends on us around them. If that hedge is broken, then they have lost their position. There are people around you who are gatekeepers and must surround you. God gives you the vision but gives them influence by the intercessors who pray. Our assignment is not to compete with the minister, but to guard the minister.
Pastor James mentioned a sobering reality that many men and women of God didn’t fulfill their destinies because the men and women assigned to them left them ─ the intercessors. Either there was offense, or they felt rejected, or there was jealousy because they wanted the same platform as the minister not realizing their important role as intercessors. It’s such a vital and necessary role and makes the minister all that they are by intercessors backing them up in prayer. And don’t forget, as intercessors, you receive the same reward as that minister you’re praying for, in heaven,
9. As a minister strength comes from those around you, your intercessors.
That is why the enemy always seeks to break the wall of prayer because it weakens the minister tremendously. When the intercessors pray in agreement it strengthens and empowers the minister greatly. So, when two or three are gathered ─ when you come in agreement with another brother or sister in Christ to pray concerning something it empowers you both
10. Cover your names with the blood of Jesus
That anywhere your name is called or brought into a place of darkness, or in rituals, or even for curses they would find it difficult because your name is covered in the blood and that is also what this pastor did.
Family, I gained a wealth of knowledge listening to Pastor James Kawalya’s messages, and I encourage you to listen to them as well. I pray that these pointers have taught you the enemy’s evil devices and inspired you to pray and be on guard so that when these schemes present themselves you will reject them immediately and continue to stay in covenant with your prayer team, your prayer group, your prayer partner, or your spouse. Please pray for us as we pray for you, family.
God bless you until the next message.
